Overview: Charlotte Graunke married Friedrich Raduege about 1840 in Pommern. They had six children; one died in Germany, as did their father. The other five children immigrated to Watertown, Wisconsin in 1868 with their mother. The book focuses on the mother and her five children - their lives and descendants. Photographs of the mother and all five children are included, along with information from the Passenger List, all U.S. Census records, photos of their gravesites and more.

The immigrant children include:

1. Albertina Raduege married Wilhelm Schmidt in Watertown, Wisconsin and settled in Lotts Creek, Iowa. They had nine children; four of them moved to North Dakota and three of them settled in Minnesota - two of them remained in Iowa, one of whom died as an infant.

2. Caroline Raduege married John Mohr in Farmington, Wisconsin, where they lived. They had seven children, six of whom remained in Wisconsin; one moved to Minnesota.

3. Herman Raduege/Radick married Albertina LaBude in Door County, Wisconsin. They settled in Red Bluff, California where Herman changed his name to Radick. They had six children; two died young and the others lived in California. After his wife’s death, Herman married Mary Reichers and had one son, who also lived in California.

4. Augusta Raduege married Gottfried Polzin in Concord, Wisconsin, where they lived. They had 7 children, all of whom remained in Wisconsin. Gottfried had four other children by his first wife.

5. William Raduege/Radig moved to Iowa with his sister, Albertina and her husband. William settled in Lotts Creek, Iowa; he married Katherine Dreyer there and changed his name to Radig. They had 14 children who settled in Iowa, North Dakota and California.
